After getting our spiritual side taken care of we headed off to the Monkey Forest in Padangtegal, which I’d heard great things about. I do love a monkey.
I was the only one in our group brave enough to go in. Apparently monkeys are violent and will attack you. Now, I’m not the bravest person in the world, and I don’t doubt that monkeys will take offence to some unsavoury characters, but I love them, and they love me. I’ve never had a problem with a wild monkey!
Some people though are clearly not very bright. First rule of hanging out with monkeys is don’t take food. Don’t take drink. The monkey will try and take it off you. Some idiot popped open a fresh can of coke right in the middle of the forest, and within 10 seconds he was pounced on and relieved of his refreshing drink.
The monkey seemed to enjoy it
The monkeys were very cool. There were loads of them chilling out, and loads of little baby ones. They were obviously very used to humans and you could get up close to them and say hello. They didn’t give me any bother and I highly recommend a visit if you ever get the chance.
